Personal History

My name is Shawn, I'm 29 years old, and I have been riding my whole life. I grew up in the country and spend almost all of my time riding quads and dirt bikes with my brother. I have a passion for riding, whether it be on the track with my Can Am, or on the pavement with my motorcycle. Recently, I discovered that I enjoy teaching others on riding techniques as well as basic mechanics and maintenance. I  began my racing career in 2000 the in NEATV - MX series as an amateur and within four years, I advanced into the Pro class. I crashed during a Pro race in 2006,  got severely injured, took some time off, and am now back and ready to race again. I spent the summer saving for new quad, and purchased a 2008 Can AM, race ready.

Riding Goals

I hope to finish this year in the top five of the 25+ class and return back into the Pro and Pro AM classes next season.

I plan on continuing to practice at a local private track, doing physical training throughout the winter, and traveling down to Florida to ride in the spring.

I would also like to continue teaching riders, especially the younger kids.

Competitive Highlights

First year racing, I placed third for the season in the 200-300 air cooled class, followed by placing second overall the following year in the same class.

2004, I took second in the amateur 450 class, and moved into the Pro class the following year, where I took fifth for the year, and placed first at a race in Maine.

The August 15th race at Hemonds track was my first race with the new bike and I placed second in the 25+ class for the day.
