Personal History

Hi my name is Leland Jardine, i am currently 22 years old and live on the Big Island of Hawaii. I have a wife and two sons, four and one years old and currently employed with the Fish and Wildlife Service. My family and I love motocross racing, and do it as our main hobby.  I have been riding quads for around nine years, mostly free riding on small personal mx tracks and trail riding. It's not until this year 2013 that I am starting to compete full time in a local race series here on the Big Island of Hawaii, held by the 808 mx atv association. I love quads with a passion and can't stop thinking of them. I am always on you tube or watching dvd's of quads when im not riding. I also love working on my bikes and putting new parts on them for competing. I started off with a LT 250 quadracer, then to a 400ex and now currently have a suzuki ltr450 and a kawasaki kfx450r. All in all I just love to race quads and spend quality time with my family riding and chasing my four year old around the track on his crf50 dirtbike.

Riding Goals

The local race series I compete in is a fun competitive series on the Big Island of Hawaii. In fact it's the only one on the island and it attracts a small group of competitive riders. Where the facility is held at it has a nice motocross track along with a small cross country course. I stick to the motocross track which has table tops doubles and a whoops section.

I ride because its a fun and exciting sport to do and I love the competition it brings, also for the exercise because we all know how physically demanding this sport can be.

This year is going good for me I am currently second in points in the A class and Open class. There is four races left in the year and I just want to finish it strong and hopefully be in first at the end of the season

Next year I have bigger plans for my riding goals . I'm going to continue the same series that I'm in now but also want to travel to the neighbor islands and compete in race events because that's were the competition is at. The island of Maui holds an all island race event on memorial day weekend and I am getting ready to go next  year. Island of Kauai holds a similar event on labor day weekend and i'm also going to enter this event.

My main goals for next year is to compete and do well in those events, but one of my MAIN goals is to obtain some sponsorship from anyone regardless of what level it is.

Competitive Highlights

I have only been competitively racing for the past season, but so far my accomplishments have been multiple first and second place overall in the A class and in the Open class with third being my worst overall. Other than that just trying out big jumps and mixing it up at private tracks.
