Personal History

I started racing at 18 years of age. From my mother’s side all my family raced. My Uncle Doolcie Engels was also a Namibian champion and all my nephews raced two wheels. As a boy I started riding in the dunes, and with practice I got better and better until I decided to do motocross. Quads might look easy to ride, but when you race and compete there is a lot more involved, technique, style, commitment and endurance. You need to be extremely fit to be able to handle all kinds of terrain and skill levels.  And most important, it's my passion and I love doing it.

Riding Goals

I am very confident and consistent and my goal is to win, become the best and continue to promote this awesome sport by being a good example to the youth and fellow competitors. I value my sponsors and promote them at every opportunity I get, without them I have no backing and there is no team. I do whatever it takes, work hard and always give everything I've got and more. The sky is the limit.

I will be relocating to California for the 2011 season and plan to stay for as long as I am able to do this sport. I enjoyed racing in Southern Africa but the opportunities are limited and I have so much more to offer, learn and eventually give back by teaching youngsters who would like to get into ATV Racing.
