Personal History

I first learnt to ride a motorcycle in late 2009.  2011 was my first full racing season and I competed in the World Enduro Canada’s Cross Country Series, in Ontario. In 2014 I made the switch from two wheels to four and have been competing in the US based Grand National Cross Country series.

In truth, I am a hacker with little finesse, but I am determined and I am improving with every race and outing. I race because I love the sport of off-road racing, the adventure, adrenalin and the great people I meet at every event. What I lack in skill I make up for with enthusiasm and dedication.

I am a brand loyal rider and consumer and will only apply for sponsors I believe in. That way I am able to promote the sponsor and the product both honestly and passionately! I take my sponsorship contractual obligations seriously and do my best to promote, showcase and represent my sponsors professionally.

I am asking for sponsorship and support for my 2015 race programme. In return I will showcase you as a sponsor and where applicable, your products. I will also endeavor to provide constructive feedback on any related products and assist wherever possible with product development.

I will commit to showcase your logo on my race machine, race transporter and website and promote your company at media or podium opportunities.

My battle plan, for the 2015 season, which I include both the GNCC and hopefully one or two desert series races, dictates that I will be driving over thousands of kilometres again, through many provinces and states across the United States and Canada, affording you, the sponsor, high visibility and exposure to thousands of potential clients.

Your consideration is very much appreciated.

Sincerely,

Nic Snyckers

Riding Goals

For 2014, I will be switched gears from two wheels to four and competed in the US based Grand National Cross Country Series, piloting a 2014 Polaris Scrambler 850 LE in the 4x4 C (Novice) class. With four races left to go, I am currently in fourth place in the overall championship standings in my class.

Inspired after watching Team UXC Racing’s Michael Swift successfully navigate and win the 2013 SCORE Baja 1000, mounted on a 4x4 Can Am Outlander, I made the decision to change things up.

After finding out that Team UXC had signed up with Polaris as the Factory Team for 2014, deciding on a suitable race platform was easy. Polaris has, in the Scrambler ATV range, probably the best 4x4 machines on the market. A close affiliation with Apex Cycle Sports, a Polaris dealer in Cambridge Ontario, cemented the deal.

Michael Swift has been very generous and has shared his extensive experience and has assisted me, as I piloted the Scrambler through its first season. This has proven to be immensely helpful to me and is also a clear indication of his commitment to the future of Polaris ATV off-road racing.

For 2015, I will be competing in the GNCC series again and hopefully the Best in the Desert, Vegas to Reno race.

Competitive Highlights

As a relatively new amateur racer, I have yet to grace the steps of a podium, but that doesn't mean I am without personal highlights.

My first ever race was the BITD Laughlin Harescramble, in 2010. With less than 15 hrs on a motorcycle, I clearly bit off more than I could chew. I DNF'd but the racing bug bit and the rest as they say, is history!

For 2013, I missed out on a third place podium spot for the World Enduro Canada Cross Country series in the Junior Veteran class, by a single point. A bittersweet reminder to never stop racing 'till the chequered flag!

2014 has not been without incident and started off with riding the first two races with a broken finger and only one rear brake as a result! Along the way there has been mayhem and mishap but also improvement and at Snowshoe, the toughest race of all, I managed a fifth place.

My aim for each event is to race hard, race fair and never, never quit! On each outing I try to improve my riding, so in many respects, I am always competing against myself as much as my competitors. I am my own worst critic, but every now and then I am able to push past my perceived limitations and for me that is always a highlight.
