Personal History

My name is Tyler Marlatt and I am 12 years old.  I attend Wallace Elementary School where I am a 5th grader. I have always been around quads, and dirt bikes since we live in the desert and that is one thing my dad and mom have always enjoyed doing. School has always been difficult for me. I struggle with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, which basically means I have a really hard time staying focused, concentrating and I am often hyper compared to other kids in my class.  When I started having a really hard time in school, my mom and dad made an agreement with me and my younger brother that if we did well in school (tried our hardest), that they would help us fix up the quads and I could race in the AZOP Racing Series (where my dad races his UTV).  That motivation was all I needed!  I started attending tutoring after school and I was learning to manage my behavior better, which eventually led to better grades!  Standing true to their word, my parents found an APEX 90cc Quad and I raced my first race in 2016 in the 90-300 cc Mini ATV class.  I almost immediately moved up to riding a Honda TRX250, and I loved the Hondas.  During the beginning of 2017, my parents and I found a 1986 Honda TRX250r and I had found my quad!  I am racing in the 2017 AZOP Racing Series and I absolutely love it!

Riding Goals

My riding goals are to finish in the top 3 in every race, but I always aim for 1st! I am still learning my quad and my dad is helping me with my riding techniques and learning the mechanics behind my quad. I want to attend the Byrd School of Racing in Tennessee during the summer, so I can be an even better racer. I am very competitive in spirit and I want to be the best quad racer around in my class.

Competitive Highlights

My first race of the 2017 AZOP Racing series and on my 1986 Honda TRX250r, I came in 2nd place out of 8 racers!
