Personal History
My name is Cody Spiess, I am age 17 now. I have owned a quad since I was age 4. I started out on a 2001 Honda 90. Of course at the young age even I had to have the best of the best, and I hoped to own the best. I build little tracks on our 17 acre woods. My step-dad owns a construction bussiness, which made it esy to learn how to run the bobcat to build bigger and better jumps on the track. My cousin and I have always pressured each other growing up together running the quads till they quit. I moved up to a 2008 Honda 400ex next which was a huge step-up to me when I turned 10. I always had some type of utility quad also, which made it fun to go play in the mud sometimes also. Upgrades to my quads were always a must, but it was tough because my parents wanted me to learn that if I couldn't buy it, then I didn't need it. I begain to get into the construction business at age 12 and have worked since then. Every year we would ride a couple trips at Silver Lake Sand Dunes. My buddies and I have always challenged each other with who had the fastest quad. I now am riding a 2004 Honda 450r with many upgrades. I have help from my local hometown shop, Championship Powersports who have helped me with all my upgrades. My life hasn't been like many teenagers, my dad was killed when I was 15 and this impacted my life like crazy. It wasn't easy to go buy new parts or even live life like it was when my dad and I could just go ride in the woods. My family has helped me more than I ever thought. I have gained knowledge and skills without having my main mechanic there to help me on my quads. I hope my skills will lead me to where I want to be with my life. Thankyou
Riding Goals
My riding has improved greatly. Everytime I ride I gain balance and knowing my stregths and speed of riding. My cousins and I have always challenged each other by going faster and taking bigger risk to get to the top. I am not afraid to go bigger and faster on quads. I have always loved the adrenaline rush I get when knowing i'm in front and have to hold everyone else back by pushing my myself to the limit. I have a huge heart and the attitude to get to the top within the track. I want to gain knowledge on jumping and knowing how to gain knowledge on getting better holeshots and keeping people behind me. Better techlogy will help my riding skills by giving me better equipment. I hope to gain more skills and knowledge after I further my riding capeabilities.
Competitive Highlights
I am very competitive when it comes to riding with other people. I do not like to get beat, but that does not happen much when i'm riding with my buddies. My cousin and I have the biggest competition when it comes to racing each other on our own little tracks. My quad treats me as good as I treat it. I take pride in keeping my equipment clean and nice. When you take pride in your work it will reward you when you are pushing your equipment to the limit. I love being pushed to the limit and can't wait to gain more competition when it comes to racing. I hope to gain new competition when racing but at the same time gain many new friends.
