Personal History

My name is Jake Marlatt and I am 11 years old.  I attend Wallace Elementary School where I am a 4th grade student. I have always been around quads, and dirt bikes since we live in the desert and that is one thing my mom and dad have always enjoyed doing. School has always been difficult for me. I have a really hard time with reading and writing and it has been this way since I can remember.  I feel like it takes me 3x as long to learn than other kids my age. When I started having a really hard time in school, my mom and dad made an agreement with me and my older brother that if we did well in school (tried our hardest), that they would help us fix up the quads and I could race in the AZOP Racing Series (where my dad races his UTV).  That was all the motivation I needed!  I started attending tutoring after school and I while I still struggle with school, my grades have become better. Standing true to their word, my parents found an APEX 90cc Quad and I raced my first race in 2016 in the Pee Wee Quad class.  I almost immediately moved up to riding a Honda TRX250, and I loved the Hondas.  Last year, I won 2nd place overall in the pee wee quad class. During the beginning of 2017, my parents and I found 2 1986 Honda TRX250r for my brother and myself and I had finally found my quad!  I am racing in the 2017 AZOP Racing Series and can’t wait to race in more series!

Riding Goals

My riding goals are to finish in the top 3 in every race, but I always aim for 1st! I am raising money right now to attend the Byrd School of Racing in Tennessee during the summer, so I can be an even better racer. I am very competitive in spirit and I want to win another overall trophy this year!

Competitive Highlights

I was the 2nd place Overall Winner in the AZOP Racing Grand Prix Series for the Pee Wee ATV class.
